What is Release Liner?

What is silicone-coated release liner?

Release liner is the backing of a pressure-sensitive label, sticker, or tape. After labels are printed and cut to shape, the matrix around the die-cut labels is removed so that only the labels remain on the release liner. The release liner is coated with a release agent, typically silicone, so that the labels can be easily removed and applied. Industries that use release liner are some of the following:

Shipping and logistics couriers
that use labels for parcels.

E-commerce vendors that use distribution centers and  warehouses for their products.

Consumer product goods companies and manufacturers such as food, beverage, electronics, health and beauty, homecare products, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and wine and spirits whose products are labeled for consumers.

Retailers and grocers whose products are sold primarily in-store, warehoused, and distributed. Labels are also used for tracking and tracing foods for country of origin, sku identification, and shelf life.

Different Categories of Labels

PRIME LABELS

are high-quality labels that identify the brand and product, such as wine labels or salad dressing labels.

VARIABLE INFORMATION PRINTING (VIP) LABELS

for product identification and information in shipping, transport, and warehousing. The labels contain barcodes or QR codes that are scanned for tracking.
